Legalisation and consular verification can be arranged where appropriate and as necessary. Legalisation is the process whereby an Apostille certificate is affixed to UK issued documents by The Foreign and Commonwealth Office. The FDO will check the document has been issued by a UK public notary/official and verify whether the signature, stamp or seal is genuine.

Legalisation

I can arrange legalisation – sometimes known as adding an ‘Apostille’ where appropriate. The Apostille is a stamped certificate affixed to UK issued documents by The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCDO). The FCDO will check the document has been genuinely issued by a UK notary public.

Sometimes additional consular verification is necessary – I can advise.

Short notice meetings

I appreciate that notarial work tends to be urgent and am happy to fix appointments at very short notice, subject to availability.

What ID is required?

Please bring your passport with you and proof of address (such as a utility bill dated within the last six months). This information will enable me to be satisfied of your identity and to attest that you have appeared before me and signed the document in front of me.

Charges and estimates

It is difficult to estimate in some cases how much time will be required to complete a matter, bearing in mind the variety of circumstances that may arise. However, a fixed fee quotation will be given on sight of documents.

Raymond Green’s minimum fee is £100 – no VAT is added. Notarial charges are based on an hourly rate of £250 per hour.

“Please scan the documents to be notarised to me at graymondgreen @outlook.com and I will provide a quotation of costs to you. The quotation will include disbursements such as the cost of an Apostille, any necessary consular legalisation charges, courier or travelling fees and any – agreed in advance – translating costs. My fees are not subject to VAT.”

For documents that need to be legalised additional costs are incurred, such as the Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO) charge for Apostille’s (stamp of approval of the British Government). This is currently £45 per Apostille per document.

Some countries will require further certification from the appropriate local Embassy or Consulate. Please enquire about this service as requirements can vary greatly by country, as can the time taken to process each document.

How to pay

Payment may be made by cash, bank transfer or invoiced by prior arrangement. Sorry but I do not accept card payments.

Documents in a foreign language?

If the document is not in English, the Notary Raymond Green can still certify it if he is satisfied that you fully understand the nature of the legally binding document about to be notarised. Some foreign language documents can be legalised; your MyNotary notary will be able to advise.

Regulatory Information

I have Professional Indemnity Insurance of up to £1 million. I confirm that I am covered by a formal complaints procedure in the event that you are dissatisfied for more information.

Via Public Transport
My office is situated in the town centre of the Kirkham. We are just metres away from stops on the main bus routes between Preston, Blackpool, Lytham St. Annes and Poulton le Fylde. My office is only a five-minute walk from Kirkham Railway Station which is served by trains from Manchester, Preston Blackpool, Lytham, Poulton le Fylde and most East Lancashire Towns.

To find My Notary Preston Raymond Green, just turn left when you leave the train station and follow your nose into town, you will find my office on the left just before the only set of traffic lights in the town.

If you are driving to see the notary in Kirkham by car, you will find a large car park adjacent to the office. Just pull up to the barrier, sound your car horn twice, and the barrier will lift giving you access to the free car park.
