Notary services ‘out of hours’
Please contact me for weekend and evening appointments. Enquiries can be made via telephone or email. I can come to you, or to keep the cost down, individuals can arrange a convenient location.
Short notice meetings
I appreciate that notarial work tends to be urgent and am happy to fix appointments at very short notice, subject to availability.
What ID is required?
Please bring your passport with you and proof of address (such as a utility bill dated within the last three months).
Charges and estimates
My hourly rate is £180 + VAT (plus disbursements where applicable). The minimum fee is £60 + VAT. Most Notary Public tasks take a minimum of twenty minutes to complete, which includes making the appointment, checking identities and authorities, making, signing and sealing the certificate and making any appropriate records.
For documents that need to be legalised additional costs are incurred, such as the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) charge for Apostille’s (stamp of approval of the British Government). This is currently £30 per Apostille per document.
Some countries will require further certification from the appropriate local Embassy or Consulate. Please enquire about this service as requirements can vary greatly by country, as can the time taken to process each document.
How to pay
Sorry, we do not accept credit or debit cards. Payment may be made by bank transfer, cash or cheque.
Documents in a foreign language?
Translation services are available by arrangement. Foreign documents requiring legalisation may be appended to a notarial coversheet. Only the notarial certificate will be legalised. Photocopies of foreign documents may be legalised as true copies of the original.
Regulatory Information
I have Professional Indemnity Insurance of up to £1 million. I confirm that I am covered by a formal complaints procedure in the event that you are dissatisfied for more information.
