What services does MyNotary Edinburgh offer?
Lewis Shand notarises documents, often for use overseas. Typical documents which require notarising are passports (and other identity documents), property sale and purchase papers, child travel consents, fingerprint sets, company documents, marriage affidavits and court papers.
Does my document need an Apostille?
As an FCDO registered Notary Public, Lewis is able to obtain an Apostille or Legalisation stamp on documents. An urgent Apostille service is available see Information for more details.
An Apostille is a stamp, also called legalisation, is issued under the Hague Convention, which is sometimes required when sending documents abroad. In order to get an Apostille, the document needs to be Notarised or issued by another public official, such as a Registrar.

How quickly can I get an Apostille in Edinburgh?
If you are looking for an Apostille in Edinburgh, then the fastest service (which would have it in Edinburgh) is 2 days if the document is with us before 3pm. If you are unsure whether you need an Apostille, speak with the person or organisation who has requested the documents.
Can I get a short notice / Out of Hours Appointment with a Notary in Edinburgh?
Notarial work often tends to be urgent and I am able to offer appointments outside of usual business hours, subject to availability. I often see clients in the evening or weekends, please contact me via, telephone or email to discuss your requirements. I can come to you or arrange a convenient location.
What do I need to take to a Notary appointment?
You will need to bring your passport and another form of ID to verify your U.K address i.e Utility Bill (dated within the last 6 months), Drivers Licence etc.

My fees are competitively priced in line with Notaries across the profession.

URGENT Apostille/ Legalisation (2-3 days)
£210 First Apostille. £175 Additional Apostilles

Standard Notarising (Witnessing, Declarations, Powers of Attorney, Property Agreements, affidavits and other lengthy documents).
£80 for the first document. £10 for additional related documents.
Please note:
Where an Apostille is being issued, there will be a courier fee of £12.50. Completion times for Apostilles do not include courier time, which is usually an additional 24 hours.
If a document is being sent abroad, we only use DHL. The cost of this is around £61 for a 1-3 day worldwide service.

My office is located on George Street, in the centre of Edinburgh – a convenient 6-minute walk from Edinburgh Waverly Train Station. Travel by public transport is recommended but please see below for parking options. We are in the Regus offices, next to the Jo Malone shop. On arrival, please take the lift to the 4th Floor and wait in the waiting area.

George Street is part of Edinburgh’s Central Controlled Parking Zone, where parking is metered with a maximum stay of 3 hours. Hours: Monday to Saturday, 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM; Sunday, 12:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Payment via card or RingGo.
