The MyNotary Member for Blackpool is notary public Richard Sloman – his services include:
- dealing with purchase or sale of land and property abroad
- providing documents to deal with the administration of the estate of people who are abroad, or owning property abroad
- authenticating personal documents and information for immigration or emigration purposes, or to apply to marry or to work abroad
- authenticating company and business documents and transactions
Legalisation and consular verification can be arranged where appropriate and as necessary. Legalisation is the process whereby an Apostille certificate is affixed to UK issued documents by The Foreign and Commonwealth Office. The FCO will check the document has been issued by a UK public notary/official and verify whether the signature, stamp or seal is genuine.

Appointments
I can offer you an appointment at my office during business hours. In exceptional circumstances I can come and see you at your business or home address; however, this will incur an additional fee.
What ID is required?
Please bring your current passport (or driving licence with photograph or a national identity card) with you, and another form of identification which contains your address, such as a utility bill under 3 months old. This will enable me to be satisfied of your identity and to attest that you have appeared before me and signed the document in front of me.

Estimates and Charges
It is difficult to estimate in some cases how much time will be required to complete a matter, bearing in mind the variety of circumstances that may arise.
My minimum charge is £100, No VAT is added, more complex matters will be based on a £220 hourly rate plus any additional extras.
Guidance as to likely costs will be given on receipt of instructions and sight of documents. For simple matters, I will endeavour to charge a fixed fee to include additional extras (disbursements) such as legalisation fees, postage, consular agent fees, courier fees, travelling expenses, translating costs etc.
Any estimates given will be based on the information available at the time and, although given in good faith, will not be binding.

Documents in a foreign language?
It is essential that both you and I understand what you are signing. If the document is in a foreign language I may have to insist that a translation be obtained. If you arrange for a professional translation, the translator should add his/her name, address, relevant qualification, and a certificate stating: “Document X is a true and complete translation of document Y, to which this translation is attached
Regulatory Information
I have Professional Indemnity Insurance of up to £1 million. My notarial practice is regulated through the Faculty Office of the Archbishop of Canterbury.

Blackhurst Budd Ltd. 22 Edward Street, Blackpool, Lancashire, FY1 1BA By Car: The office is in the town centre, close to Blackpool North Railway Station. There are several car parks nearby.
By Train: If you are travelling by train, the office is a 5 minute walk from Blackpool North train station. When exiting the station head north west toward the High Street and continue onto Springfield Road. Turn left onto Dickson Road, at the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Topping Street. Turn right onto Deansgate and turn left onto Edward Street.
By Bus: If you are travelling by bus, there are frequent buses that stop near the notary public. Buses 2, 3, 4, 7, 9, 14, 74, 76, 84 are regular buses that stop near the office.
